CLIFFSIDE CLAYWORKS

A studio for rigor and serenity.

Our initial and primary artistic offering is a ceramic studio and learning space providing instruction, regular wood firings, workshops, and artist residencies.

Wheels on a sunny wraparound porch.

Overlooking the surrounding West Virginia landscape, our studio is designed to balance focused practice with the quiet presence of the land. It is a place to develop skill, take risks, and build a body of work in the company of other makers.

THE STUDIO

WHAT WE OFFER

Instruction

Classes and workshops for beginners and experienced potters — throwing, handbuilding, glazing, and surface.

Wood Firings

Regular, accessible wood-fired kiln cycles that connect our community to a rare and elemental way of finishing work.

Residencies

Extended studio time for artists seeking focus, feedback, and space to develop new work.

WOOD FIRING

Wood firing is slow, communal, and physical. It leaves marks the kiln alone can make. We are building the infrastructure to offer this rare practice to a wider circle of makers — apprentices, members, and visiting artists alike.

The flame that finishes the work.
